Chris Eacott Ph.D.

Professional Summary: 

Chris spent most of his working career (25 years) in technical / commercial management roles within ICI and its daughter companies (Zeneca and Avecia). Over the past thirteen years he has developed in-depth knowledge of best-practice chemical industry product stewardship principles and processes, and is increasingly applying these to the benefit of organisations grappling with EU REACH and CLP Compliance.
He has worked on behalf of leading trade associations including the UK Chemical Industries Association (CIA), the European Chemical Industry Council (CEFIC) and the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA).
Chris regularly provides training in product stewardship and REACH, and his courses have been endorsed by the Institute of Leadership & Management. He is authorised as a trainer by the Irish Training & Employment Authority.
Chris is a regular author of articles on chemicals management, and a member of the editorial advisory board of ICIS Chemical Business, the leading international chemicals journal.

• Development of new business processes and author of Standard Operating Procedures on behalf of the EU organisation of a major US-headquartered global household products company.  
  

• Establishment of a preferred REACH partnership with a Chinese consultancy. Delivered three papers on REACH at the partner's annual REACH event in Shanghai (April 2009).

• Production of a series of on-line REACH training modules for ICIS Chemical Business

• Keynote speaker on product stewardship: at the UNEP/ IUPAC International conference in Glasgow. Also, during the annual HS&E Day of a major Saudi Arabian petrochemical manufacturer.

• Selection from among several consultancies as the REACH service provider of choice by a leading UK High Street retailer. Support to the Far East importation organisation was a critical feature of the company's compliance programme.

• Contracted to provide REACH support to the UK manufacturing arm of a leading US-headquartered global consumer brand

• Undertook REACH status assessments of the German & UK subsidiary business units of a major US-based multinational chemical company.

• Provision of periodic chemicals management coaching to product stewards / REACH co-ordinators within a major EU-based multinational petrochemical company.

• Contracted to support the further development of enhanced product stewardship processes across the global operations of a major multinational speciality chemicals company, begun in the USA during 2007 by a US-based associate.
  
  
• Contracted by the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA) to help complete ICCA's Global Product Strategy product stewardship guidelines.
  
  
• Managed a regulatory / HS&E due diligence project on behalf of a major Japanese pharmaceutical company, seeking to acquire a UK biotech
   
• Periodically run REACH and product stewardship training on behalf of companies and organisations including Federchimica & Pharmachemical Ireland (Italian & Irish chemical & allied trade associations, respectively, Lancaster Environment Centre (part of Lancaster University), and the UK Solvents Industry Association.
